Flying to Himachal Pradesh: What You Need to Know || Airports and Flights in Himachal Pradesh ||

In Himachal Pradesh, the availability of flights is somewhat limited compared to larger states, but there are several airports that serve the region:

  1. JubbarHatti Shimla Airport (SLV):  Located in the state capital, Shimla, this airport has limited flights, primarily connecting to Delhi. It’s a small airport with a shorter runway, so only smaller aircraft can land here.

  2. Gaggal Airport Kangra Airport (DHM): Situated in Gaggal, near Dharamshala, this airport offers flights to and from Delhi and occasionally other destinations. It serves the Kangra Valley and the nearby towns of Dharamshala and Palampur.

  3. Bhuntar Airport (KUU): Located near Kullu and Manali, this airport has flights to and from Delhi. It is relatively small and handles regional traffic.

  4. Air Force Station at Pathankot: Though primarily a military airport, there are occasional civilian flights and connections to other regional airports.

The main connecting hub for these airports is Delhi, which offers a wide range of domestic and international flights. For travelers heading to Himachal Pradesh, flying into Delhi and then taking a connecting flight or driving to their final destination is a common route.
