What is not allowed in Vaishno Devi ?

  • Photography: Photography is prohibited inside the temple complex, particularly in the main cave shrine, to maintain the sanctity of the place and respect for the devotees' privacy.

  • Non-Vegetarian Food: Consumption of non-vegetarian food is strictly prohibited in and around the temple premises. The area maintains a vegetarian-only policy.

  • Alcohol and Tobacco: The use and possession of alcohol and tobacco products are not allowed anywhere near the temple complex.

  • Reckless Behavior: Loud behavior, inappropriate dress, and any form of misconduct are not permitted. Devotees are expected to conduct themselves with respect and reverence.

  • Large Bags and Belongings: Large bags, heavy items, and certain personal belongings are generally not allowed inside the temple. Pilgrims may need to leave such items in designated areas or use provided storage facilities.

  • Pets: Pets and animals are not allowed in the temple area.
